VCD Auction #3:
Denron 25.60 Ounce Silver Bar (Cripple Creek)
Denron Ltd. was a small time metals company from Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Many companies would contract with refineries to have ingots produced for them. This ingot was produced by Cripple Creek refining in Colorado presumably in the 1970’s or earlier. Cripple Creek Mining District was a big name in the mining world, located in Teller County Colorado. This mold (3.43in x 1.97in) is a direct match to the only known 20 oz class Cripple Creek Colorado ingot. Fonts for the weight and fineness stamping are a direct match also. This ingot is struck “Denron” only. Only two known examples for this weight class making this an extremely tough bar to acquire.
