Vintage San Diego Refining 5 oz (Two Bars)

Exceptionally rare for this refiner, the 5 oz class ingot made by SD Refining is the lowest mintage bar they produced. SDR made ingots from 5-50 oz sizes. Most commonly seen is the 10 oz variety, however a special batch of only 120 - 5 oz ingots were produced for a wedding. These were passed out as gifts for attendees. SDR is an extremely popular California refinery that opened in the 1970’s. This example is struck with the company name on the top of the pour, and struck with the famous diamond scale logo on the bottom of the pour. Unique to note the picture frame style mold which is extremely popular among collectors.
