Item Description
1946 Philadelphia mint silver ingot featuring the type 3 hallmark.
This particular hallmark was only used in 1946, along with one known 1956 example. All markings are struck on the bottom of the pour, dated 1946, serial number 161, 999 fine, and weighing 27.88 oz, with one additional lot number "10" struck on the edge of the bar. Philadelphia mint ingots are arguably the most desirable government issued ingots one could obtain. This example is very aesthetically pleasing with the surfaces being nicely toned and the top of the pour being very crude. This ingot gives everything you'd want in a Philadelphia pour.
