10oz Cincinnati Gold & Silver Refining Company Bar (K212)

The present specimen is an undated Cincinnati Gold and Silver Refining Company 10 ounce bar, stamped K212 which is presumed to be a serial number. The bar is designated as Very Rare. Cincinnati Gold and Silver Refining Company was opened in the 1880s by a government refiner. Since, it has become privatized and in the 1970s the company incorporated. At the time of incorporation, Edward Spencer (owner of the company) estimated there were no more than 18 refineries in the US.
