Above choice for the grade and a proof strike to boot, this 1856 Small Date dime features a beautiful progression of blue-to-purple-to-pink toning from the periphery in toward the center of the coin on both obverse and reverse. The devices are nicely contrasted with the fields and there is minimal hairlining and contact marks. This would make an excellent type piece for the Seated collector.
